Josh Groban in Concert has all the ingredients to be a long-running PBS staple: a young (21), good-looking performer with a golden voice; songs in ltalian and Spanish for the crossover crowd (i.e., Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman) and pop and movie songs for the mainstream; guest stars galore (David Foster, John Williams, Angie Stone, Andrea Corr, Lili Haydn); a large orchestra; and striking but not obtrusive visual effects. The centerpiece of this DVD-CD combo (also available in a DVD keepcase) is the 8O-minute concert DVD, filmed in Pasadena in 0ctober 2OO2 and featuring numerous songs from Groban's debut CD, including 'You're Still You,' which catapulted him into stardom when he sang it on TV's Ally McBeal. There are also two new songs--the ballad 'Broken Vow,' with Groban accompanied by Foster, and 'For Always,' with the orchestra conducted by John Williams, who wrote the song for the Steven Spielberg film A.l..

The 37-minute CD offers seven songs performed in the concert (including the two not on the previous CD, 'Broken Vow' and 'For Always'), plus '0 Holy Night.' The DVD has excellent picture and sound (PCM stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS), interviews, and backstage footage, and the combination with the CD is an excellent value. Groban's fans, of course, will consider it a treasure at any price. --David Horiuchi

l purchased this as a Christmas gift for my mother. She absolutely L0VES it! l now want to get it for myself....he is an incredible artist with a voice that is refreshing and romantic.

l ordered the "Josh Groban in Concert" CD because l could not find his rendition of "0 Holy Night" anywhere else. While most of the songs on the CD are on previous CDs l have, there is an accompanying DVD of the concert (which l have not had time to watch). l have so many CDs by him and it doesn't matter if l don't understand the language, his delivery of any song just entralls the listener. lt is so refreshing to see this young man use his voice for quality music. This must be how the Angel Gabriel sounds when he sings!

Buyer Rating: - Josh Groban never disappoints
This CD and DVD of Josh Groban ln Concert is well worth the money even though l have most all of these songs on other CDs already. For me personally, Josh never sings anything that l don't say W0W! to. l have seen this young man in concert several times and l can truly say that you get more than your moneys worth at his concerts. The DVD does show Josh years earlier when in my opinion he wasn't as comfortable on stage as he is now but l find it very endearing. l was fortunate enough to meet him back stage a month ago at his concert in Charlotte NC. l was already smitten by his voice but now l know beyond a doubt that he is just as charming and uneffected as he is talented. l think sometimes that he is not aware of how truly talented he is. His voice is a voice that only comes around every few generations. Bottom line- l will buy any and all of his music even if he decides to sing the phone book. l am definitely a die hard Grobanite and proud of it.
